This is an ADVANCED swath-width calculator for a Dual Head Multibeam system that allows for asymmetric swaths. Enter each sonar’s parameters including, physical sonar mount tilt, lateral sonar offset from the centre of the vessel, sonar altitude, and the angles of the outer beams to port and starboard. This calculator will output the total swath width, total overlap and minimum swath angles to have the inner beams “touch” below the centre of the vessel. It will warn you if the inner beams do not overlap.
