This tool calculates two sets of line-pair spacings to reduce the data acquisition time compared to running lines with a set line spacing by over 35%.
Referring to the diagram below: Running lines in pairs means line 1a’s nadir region is covered by the outer swath of line 1b. 2a is covered by 2b, and so on. There is NO NEED to line 1b to cover 2a’s nadir region and vice versa, so the spacing between 1b and 2a, 2b and 3a, etc., can be stretched out, so coverage overlaps to the user’s desired amount.

- Create line 1a and then create n parallel lines to it at a distance equal C above
- Create Line 1b at a distance of A from Line 1a
- Create n parallel lines to 1b at a distance equal to C above
